LusioMATE is a wearable device that can be worn on different parts of the body so that different movements and actions act as the controller for playing computer games. It helps children develop their range of motion, muscle strength and endurance through a fun and motivating interactive way.

Children with decreased range of motion, low tone and movement difficulties will benefit from using LusioMATE. This intervention is appropriate for children from 4 years old who require therapy to support rehabilitation and motor skill acquisition including those with:

Sensors are attached to specific parts of the body to measure changes in joint range of motion and body positioning. The sensors provide real-time feedback to the LusioMATE app through bluetooth connection, so that when the child moves their body, they are able to play games such as car racing, bowling and basketball. It provides an exciting way to encourage movement of a limb, with a higher number of repetitions, that would otherwise be completed by the child during other types of intervention.

Introducing LuisoMATE in therapy

How it is used in therapy sessions

Your therapist will create a personal profile and set-up exercises based on your child’s specific motor goals. A target such as time played or number of repetitions is set and a difficulty level is chosen.

Your child may also be asked to use additional equipment such as weights or therabands to support them to achieve their therapy goals.

If appropriate, a home trial may be recommended which involves hiring LusioMATE sensors for use at home. You will be supported to learn how to set-up LusioMATE for use at home. Your therapist will then be able to track your child’s daily exercise progress via the dedicated app.

Frequently asked questions
Can LusioMATE be customised to suit my child’s specific needs?

Yes, LusioMATE is highly customisable. The therapist will tailor the exercises and game settings to match your child’s specific motor goals, ensuring that the activities are challenging yet achievable. This personalised approach helps keep your child motivated and engaged in their therapy.

Absolutely. LusioMATE is often used in combination with other therapy interventions such as stretching and goal directed therapy. Your therapist will create a comprehensive treatment plan that integrates LusioMATE with other therapeutic activities to maximise your child’s progress.

LusioMATE offers a variety of games, including car racing, bowling, and basketball, that are designed to improve different aspects of movement. These games help enhance your child’s range of motion, strength, and coordination in a fun and interactive way. The games are carefully chosen to align with your child’s interests.
