Melinda Webber (nee Kelsey) is the founder of South West Kids Clinic. She is an enthusiastic therapist who is dedicated to helping children reach their maximal potential through the therapy that she provides.
Melinda graduated from the University of Western Sydney with a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy. She has worked in both the private and public sectors for several years. Her experience has been in paediatrics where she worked her way to senior therapist prior to commencing her own private practise.
She is an active member of the Australian Association of Occupational Therapists. She has presented a research paper at the National Paediatric Occupational Therapy Conference in Bribane in 2003. She has also had an abstract accepted into the 2007 National Allied Health Conference in Tasmania. She has been recognised as a highly successful graduate by the University of Western Sydney who have completed several articles on her for the UWS graduate profiles, career one profiles and newspapers.

Occupational Therapy Team
Lauren Hughes is an exceptional Paediatric Occupational Therapist who has become a highly sought after therapist since starting work with South West Kids Clinic in April 2011. Her gentle, caring nature and passion for working alongside parents have seen her make a great difference in the lives of many children and their families.
Lauren’s passion is working in schools to support children to reach their full potential in the classroom. She has experience in running seminars to educate staff, identifying students who require additional support in the classroom, developing and implementing group programs and providing individualised support for students. Lauren has also developed an interest in Sensory Integration. She runs seminars to educate teachers on sensory processing and enjoys staying up to date on the latest intervention techniques.
Lauren developed a special interest in Paediatric Occupational Therapy while completing her Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy at Sydney University. She has developed her skills working with children facing various challenges including difficulties with sensory processing, play and social interaction, motor planning, self care skills, fine motor skills and handwriting.
As a young and motivated therapist Lauren has been committed to developing her knowledge and skills in order to provide the most holistic and up to date services to the children she works with.

Kim Short is a very experienced and vibrant Occupational Therapist that has been working as part of the team at South West Kids Clinic since 2011. Kim completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Occupational Therapy from the University of Sydney and since then has been dedicated to providing the best Occupational therapy approaches available. Kim’s bubbly personality and playfulness creates fun and supportive environment to ensure the best therapeutic gains for her clients. Kim is extremely skilled in both the assessment and the treatment of a range of difficulties. Kim demonstrates a particular passion for assisting children developing play skills and social skills. She has developed a number of play group programs and social skill programs to assist children to interact appropriately with and develop close relationships with their parents and their peers.
During her career Kim has worked with children with a wide variety of challenges and disabilities. This includes but is not limited to experience with children on the Autism Spectrum, children with developmental delay, attention deficit disorders, visual perceptual disorders, sensory processing disorders, neurological conditions, physical disabilities, difficulties with fine motor and handwriting skills, motor planning and praxis difficulties, cognitive delays and children with difficulties in developing their self care skills. She has previously worked in Early Intervention services for not for profit organisations as well as running camp programs for disadvantaged children in the USA.
Kim has continued to advance her skills through specific paediatric post graduate accredited courses across multiple treatment areas.

Rebeka Bushell completed her Bachelor of Applied Science (Occupational Theapy) at Curtin University in Western Australia. Prior to joining South West Kids Clinic, Rebeka worked in a variety of settings. These include Early Intervention services for non-for-profit organisations, as well as in community health settings working specifically with children with a range of disabilities. Her experiences have enabled her to discover fun and novel ways to facilitate motivating and meaningful therapy for children. Rebeka is passionate about seeing children succeed and is committed to assisting them to participate in their daily activities to the best of their ability and as independently as possible.

Speech Pathology Team
Aoife Rodgers (Senior Speech Pathologist) is an experienced, enthusiastic therapist who is passionate about developing children’s communication skills. Throughout her career Aoife has worked with a diverse range of clients in multiple settings including community health clinics, schools and early intervention services. Aoife has extensive experience in the assessment and intervention of children with a range of speech and language needs and developmental difficulties including autism spectrum disorder, stuttering, speech sound disorders, physical and learning disabilities and language disorders.
Aoife adopts a family-centred therapy approach and strives to keep her therapy sessions engaging and fun. Aoife is trained in a range of therapy approaches including Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Hanen – It Takes Two to Talk, Palin Parent Child Interaction (PCI), DIR Floortime, Hanen – More Than Words and Dysphagia Management.

Chloe MacDonald is an enthusiastic speech pathologist who studied her master’s degree in speech pathology at the University of Sydney. She has worked in a range of settings including private practice and within multidisciplinary teams and has provided therapy in clinics, schools, preschools, homes and special schools for children with a range of communication difficulties. She is a strong advocate for her clients and has good relationships with other agencies which ensures her clients are achieving their goals to the best of their abilities. Chloe has experience in assessing and providing intervention for a range of communication disorders such as delayed language, speech sound disorders, difficulties with literacy and issues with fluency. She particularly enjoys working with families of school aged children and goes and beyond to improve their speech, language and literacy skills to help them to achieve their best in the classroom at school and everyday life.
Chloe has attended additional training in the areas of Autism, Language Development and has presented to teachers and health staff on the importance of language disorders and voice management.

Katherine Flew is a highly experienced therapist who has worked in a range of settings in Sydney and interstate. She completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Speech Pathology at the University of Sydney and has provided services to children and families in Sydney, regional NSW, Canberra and Melbourne. Prior to joining South West Kids Clinic Kate provided early intervention and school based services in community health, disability services, Aboriginal preschool programs, a preschool for children with specific language impairments and the Department of Education Victoria.
Kate is particularly passionate about early intervention and is committed to continuing education to ensure the highest quality services for her clients. She has completed formal training in the areas of paediatric feeding and dysphagia, cerebral palsy, Picture Exchange Communication System (PECS), Key Word Sign, language impairments from birth to five years old and functional goal setting with families.

Patricia Donnelly is a certified practising member of Speech Pathology Australia. Since graduating with a Masters of Speech Pathology and an Undergraduate degree in Psychology, she has worked in a variety of settings overseas and in Australia including delivery of services to rural and remote communities. Patricia’s professional passion lies with child development and has substantial experience in working with children with a diverse range of communication difficulties and additional needs in both community health and with the Department of Education.
Patricia uses the most current evidence based practise along with fun, creativity and bucket loads of enthusiasm in helping her clients reach their therapy goals. She brings a sense of humour and compassion into each of her sessions making her sessions enjoyable and rewarding for children. She strongly believes in working collaboratively with educators and particularly parents empowering them with the knowledge and therapeutic techniques in supporting their child to reach their full potential as communicators.

Elise Ross graduated from the University of Sydney with a Masters Degree in Speech Pathology. Previously she has worked with children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities. Elise has a passion for working with children of all ages and spends most of her time in local schools providing therapy to children within their learning environment.
Elise loves to discover what makes each client unique so she can tailor therapy to suit each little personality. Her bubbly nature places children at ease and her fun loving attitude allows for children to achieve their goals in exciting and fun ways. She loves making therapy fun and active – from treasure hunts to snakes and ladders – so children are engaged, motivated and able to gain the maximum benefit out of her sessions.

Ella has obtained a multifaceted skill-set as a practicing Speech Pathologist through a variety of practical and professional experiences. Her passion to work with children has taken her too many communities within New South Wales strengthening her commitment to provide quality care and deliver evidence based practice to clients of diverse backgrounds.

Hardeep Randhawa graduated from The University of Newcastle with a Bachelor of Physiotherapy. Throughout her studies she developed a strong passion for working with children and commenced working at The Children’s Hospital at Westmead. Danielle Stockwell is known for her warmth and understanding and has a special ability to connect and assist children and their parents. A local resident for over 20 years and a mother of four serves to reinforce Danielle’s commitment to providing accessible psychological therapy for families in our region.
Danielle has previously worked in hospitals, medical centres, multi-disciplinary clinics and workplaces in the public and private sector. At South West Kids Clinic she offers a range of focussed psychological therapy services including diagnostic assessments, cognitive behavioural therapy, play therapy, parent training in behaviour management and counselling. Danielle offers a fun and creative learning environment.

Briget Gurton is a highly qualified and experienced Psychologist with a gift for relating to children and parents. She has more than 13 years’ experience in Government and private sectors consulting with clients, conducting assessments, and running groups.
Briget’s personable and open manner makes her particularly popular among her clients who appreciate her friendliness and lack of pretense. Briget is repeatedly told that she was the first health professional who didn’t patronise or belittle her clients, an attitude cultivated through her extensive experience working with DOCS as well as families where a child has a disability.
Briget’s group workshops and trainings are upbeat and fun, packed with practical examples drawn from her depth and breadth of experience. She works with an extensive network of health professionals to ensure that all children receive the best possible care.

We are fortunate to have amazing office managers providing coverage at our Casula and Picton Clinic. When you first contact South West Clinic you are likely to be greeted by either Kim or Lorraine or Melina who are more than willing to assist you with your enquiries. They have a thorough knowledge of each therapist and can match your child’s needs to the most suitable therapist who will work with your child.
Kim Anderson has been a valuable member of our team for the past 5 1/2 years. She has a passion for helping parents feel welcome in the clinic and is credited for going above and beyond to assist families who attend the clinic. In addition to the smooth daily operation of the centre, Kim is responsible for entering claims for clients accessing FaCHSIA funding.
Lotus Mackie has a warm and attentive nature that shows through in her work. She is dedicated to finding the right solution to each enquiry that she manages. She understands first hand what life is like in the shoes of a parent with a child with additional needs and her compassion is felt by families that attend the clinic.
Lorraine Giannini has a keen eye for detail which makes her the ideal person to manage our third party payments. Lorraine always has an open ear to listen to any exciting news that children have to tell when they arrive at the clinic. She treasure each of the children that visit the centre and enjoys getting to know each family.
Melina Gerace is the newest member to our administration team. Her friendly and gentle nature shines through when she greets clients at the front desk. Her giving nature extends to other aspects of her life where she is a volunteer at the Sydney Children’s Hospital and at a local nursing home.
